I love this idea and have used it in my own, personal projects, and it really works! I was playing around with the AWS CLI the other day when I received a WARNING email out of the blue.
It turns out that my canary tokens were configured by default on my local system and I didn't realize it. It surprised me, but in a good way. I like security solutions that stay out of the way but are simple and still work when they should.
