Over the last year, I have attempted to “sign” my little Mac App (dmg, pkg and zip) using the developer signing components (not built in XCode) — completely unsuccessfully.
The upload error messages do not identify what isn’t signed properly, and all signing verification tools say it is signed correctly.
No wonder few people are uploading Mac App Store apps…
To me this is just more evidence an iOS transition is in the future for the Mac. I just can’t imagine most current execs at Apple thinking of anything else.
