The best "security" is not to give data to "tech" companies. It is never too late to stop doing something stupid. It is unfortunate that governments will not help citizens in this regard by adequately regulating collection of data by "tech" companies. Laws limit data collection by governments from their citizens, for good reason. Meanwhile "tech" companies are under no such restrictions, which is beyond reason.

This attitude, combined with a pathological inability to state what the practical harms/risks are, is why "privacy advocates" never get anywhere.


What are the practical harms/risks of not sending data to "tech" companies. There are none.
