I think the idea is better expressed as "physical context switching".

Play games on this device; do work on that device. That other one one is for internet searches. A fourth device is used for watching TV-like streams. A fifth for communication.

Set up each device so it only does what it's intended to, so that the friction of getting it to do something else is greater than the friction of finding and using the other device that does that. Label them, so you will experience dissonance using a device for a *wrong" purpose.

Computers can do anything, but over time I'm getting to feel that humans do better using each machine as a single-purpose device: an appliance.

Of course this assumes that the required care and feeding of each device is minimal, so Microsoft Windows can't be used on any of them, nor can certain Linux distros.
