Odd article. Claims to be inspired by camera lens cleaning methods, but I've never heard of any photog using an "oil remover", and certainly not an ultrasonic cleaner.


"Inspired" doesn't mean you do the exact same things, sometimes you introduce your own ideas, not all necessarily good :)

The residual oil remover mentioned is just a fancy name for lens cleaner that you can pick up in most supermarkets:

I've used this stuff to clean my SLR lenses (and my spectacles) but just by squirting a small amount onto a microfibre cloth rather than directly.

Yeah, I think I'd rather not be exposing my glasses to the rigours of the sonic tank :)
