But since nobody knows what would have happened if he wouldn't have paused his acting career, it's a naive assumption to think, that the reason for the the actor's success was thanks to him "quitting" his acting career at one point.
In an alternate universe he might have become the president of the USA because he would not have had quit his acting, and eventually landed a job at "The Apprentice".
So, no, don't just give up eventually - unless you're in a cul-de-sac. And even then, don't give up; pivot instead!
