ThinkPad too, so not the budget line. So... guess Lenovo don't sell to me anymore. Dell's latitude are similar but were Intel-only last time I looked.

Anyone know the obvious replacement offhand? Ryzen + runs Linux.

edit: article says 'default' a lot, are we talking flash new firmware to get something working or changing a setting like secure boot = off, as they're not really comparable.



I have my eyes on the HP EliteBook 845 G9. Ryzen 6000, two user upgradable DDR5 slots (albeit not LPDDR5), 2280 M.2 PCIe 4.0.

They are not available yet, but my SO has a 840 G8 (Intel 11th) and it's a very decent machine.


I'm using Asus Zephyrus G14. Seems like a solid machine and works on Linux pretty well. Perfectly, if you exchange the wifi card and patch acpi.

The latter, you need to change a setting.
