This is pretty cool, but all the sounds I clicked on were only 2-3 minutes long and that surprised me. I was expecting several hours of material per location so that it can be used for meditation or relaxing but the purpose appears to be different?

The Sound Escapes podcast has some longer-running audio (though I think there's also some short intro/outro discussion): https://www.birdnote.org/podcasts/sound-escapes

And for completely unfiltered, vast amounts of audio, you can dig into the Australian Acoustic Observatory: https://data.acousticobservatory.org/projects/1

Have you confirmed they're not just looping a few minutes of recording?

Yeah, I've listened to a couple. They're recordings of legitimately interesting places made by a really interesting recordist: https://www.soundtracker.com/about-gordon-hempton/

Thanks!

George Vlad has long recordings per location on his channel: https://www.youtube.com/c/GeorgeVlad/videos

You might try sonus locus they Livestream some outdoor places.

I had exactly the same response as you. If they were even loop-faded I could listen to them for a few hours on repeat quite happily
