I tried several higher end keyboards, and build 2 of them myself. (custom keycaps and all), but the average enthusiast mech. keyboard is just not usable for programming. most of them are high profile, while they are great for typing, they are terrible at activities where you have to navigate around in a speedy way (something that you do a lot during programming).

A low profile keyboard is a must, and the custom scene just doesn't have that many options for it, and you have to go commercial.

I have the G915 TKL Clicky version and it is a great keyboard. It is fast, low profile, and the switches feel great (Rebranded Khail Choc V1). The only problem is that it is a bit too noisy for office setting, and I can only use it at home. The G915 Linear version is quiet, but it doesn't feel that great, and I didn't like it, so I sticked with the Clicky version.

I am curious how this new attempt will feel and work out. I wish Logitech had a normal TKL layout for this, as the Mini feels a bit too cramped, while the full sized keyboard is just too large.

The more options in the market, the better for all of us.
