My wife, daughter and me all had minecraft accounts. Now we have one microsoft acct with a mix of all the data (lost all the daughter's stuff, which was most important). My wife had been a daily player for 6+ years and hasn't made a new acct since they took hers away last month.

To my uninvolved eye, it looks like Microsoft failed to immolate Minecraft for a while, but they finally couldn't resist any longer. I'm shocked it took them this long.
