One thing that bothers me about a lot of new movies and TV shows is that the actors just look digitally inserted. Even when it’s a static shot and there’s no interaction with the background, it just looks wrong. I’m not sure how I identify it, but I suspect it has something to do with the way the actors are lit. I remember watching a Marvel movie where all the heroes were shown as a group at the end and I felt like I was looking at a high school yearbook because it seemed like they weren’t all present in the same space. The production values are high for a movie like that and you’d think they’d be using state of the art techniques.
