That is what political weaponization looks like: the creation of an untouchable class of king-making, incompetent praetorian guard.

He's telling a reporter that it's a no-go topic for the interview, not as statement as to them being politically untouchable, even if they were.

This is potentially a grossly misleading quote, as you frame it, whether your realize it or not.

I agree with your broader point. It just has nothing to do with what you quoted, but reads as if it does.

This was one of the most "WTF?!" pieces I've read in a long time. I live in the region, 1-2 degree separation from several impacted.

I read the dead tree version while flipping through the mail, floored me. Great reporting here, the kind that motivates others to investigate as well.

Absolutely disgusting to read about what people can get away with if they're useful to the FBI . . . .
