Fun story: When I was working at one of the FAANG companies, I have placed the (Night with stars, it does not seem to render here [0]) character in my preferred name. Some time later, I was notified by HR that I must change my preferred name and I can only use UTF-8 characters with maximum length of 3 bytes.
