LeetCode is one of the biggest reasons I have anxiety over jumping to a new job. I was never great at it. I somehow managed to get through a good company as an intern without hardcore LeetCode practice that many of my friends did. Didn't get a full time there, spent several months in the pandemic hunting jobs, and I have one now but it isn't something that I am really enjoying but since they have given me WFH, I feel partially inclined to continue the status quo.

There are many companies that don't require leetcode. I forbid it in my hiring interviews.

I don't know what is the situation in the US but I interviewed for a job where I was given an offer of 4.5 lakh rupees plus a bonus of 50K(equaling 6,726.67 USD) and the guy asked me quite a bit of questions from LeetCode amongst other stuff. That was quite terribly low for me personally (and had I known the salary before hand, I would have never interviewed for it).

So at least in India, from what I have encountered so far and I am yet to encounter a company that hasn't asked me those questions yet.

Ah yes, I have forgot to account for local bubble. My apologies. I am in Europe and I've seen LC only in FAANG.

If you can, try to apply to companies in cities like Berlin, Vienna or Paris, but of course not everyone has that opportunity.
