Total hit piece/propaganda, but does have a few good (obvious) points. Wonder who the audience though. If you don't already know and believe this stuff, I doubt China would be the one that convinces you...

What is interesting to me is a distribution of accurate, inaccurate, but also debatable critiques.

A debatable one is how much economic sanctioning is overused, or underused. Especially in light of the its long term impact - i.e. over time the demand to unseat the dollar as the reserve currency is growing.

And that will be a huge blow to US influence.

EDIT: I imagine that would be on China's TO DO list.

Yeah, that is interesting, isn't it? It reads at times like a high school essay written by a somewhat informed, yet not entirely world-wizened, teenager.

Thing is, it really isn't hard to meaningfully critique US policy and society... we have soooo many social issues that you don't have to exaggerate at all to make us look bad. So why do it?

I wonder if some of it might be dog-whistling to domestic propaganda talking points that Westerners don't hear or respond to? The style reminds me a little bit of North Korean propaganda and its frequent calls to Juche values (but much toned down), which to outsiders often seems ridiculous on its face but maybe has more emotional impact on their own citizens?

Maybe it's also a translation thing. I wonder how it reads in its native language.

This Communist Party version of China carries more weight in its words the further it goes in space technology and other domains. China's space station has half the volume of the Saturn 5 era Skylab. The last questioner at an WSJ audience of CEOs with SpaceX founder framed China as the big kid on the block with a projection to grow outsize its economy to the United States Democracy by 3.

This is the official Chinese governments response to the Summit for Democracy being held.
