As a musician in various bands, I have seen countless times people have been asked to perform or compose for the "exposure." No money, just the possibility of future gains.
Every single time, it's a sham and a scam. I have never seen anything positive come of such an arrangement. I finally learned to run the other way with my hand on my wallet every time I heard the word "exposure."
