Arbitrarily banning sales of such items sounds suspicious.

If it's about pollution, the *use* of highly polluting things should be made illegal, including many cars and SUVs.

If it's about noise, ban the *use* of noisy things, including leaf blowers, motorbikes and so on.

How comes existing ICE vehicles get a pass?

It's not as if they've done nothing on the ICE front--e.g. catalytic converters and zero-emission vehicle tax credits.

This really seems like just another step, with likely more to follow.
