And rendering books in 3D is nothing more than a visual gimmick, not really a UI in any way.
It also reeks of skeomorphism which is nothing new and was certainly not invented by Stripe.
If Amazon presented their book catalogue like this, users would walk away. And to test this statement, let's see if Amazon copies this (I bet not).
