Yeah I've heard of interesting approaches other than "off the shelf" stuff like Evernote/Notion/One Note/etc... some people have their own CLI tools, etc... I spend most of my time in the browser so I'm working on a chrome-extension oriented approach, but still, that personal data store not tied to a cloud.
