I realise that the term Security Through Obscurity™ has a specific meaning (in the field of cryptography) which isn't the one I intended.

However, you can crack any encryption scheme eventually. Encryption doesn't guarantee security—it simply makes the information harder to get at.




DRM is one thing, an encrypted wireless protocol is another. Think using WPA with user- or factory-settable keys to talk between the base/elements (I'm not sure how insulin pumps work).
