They have binary and library files in /etc. This bothers my sense of order! Not that modern filesystem layouts don't disagree with me in many places also.

Modern Unix file system layout come later, with (4.2?) BSD.

Yeah, my sense of what is "right" is stuck in Sunos 4.x, as that is what I learned on.
