The hyperloop calculations are way off. the longer the tube, the thicker it has to be to support itself.

Instead, "aerial airstrip" on slide 21 would make a ton of sense. Move airports from the ground to above the clouds (3km up in the air?). Advantages:

1) 10-15% less fuel consumption (after take-offs you are already at 3km altitude)

2) much less noise for the surroundings

3) less subject to bad weather conditions.

etc.




The Hyperloop to the sky calculations are admittedly very back-of-the-napkin. Contributions welcome!
