I'd like remind everyone that, as it says on the site, this conference is for "anyone working at an ad agency, advertiser, or publisher," because we seem to have a lot of people trying to register who don't fall into one of those 3 categories.
If you receive the "Thank you for your RSVP" email does that mean you're in or is there another round of selection? Need to know before I book my plane ticket..
There's another round. Initially we trusted (we should have known better) that only people in the 3 categories we listed would register. Unfortunately we also got a significant number of people who weren't, as far as we could tell. So we've changed the wording on the site to say that the form is to request an invitation, and we're examining the list of those who filled out the old form right now.
For some reason I remember having first seen it just saying "ad agency"; maybe it changed, maybe I'm crazy, whatever ;P.
Regardless, given that those two categories are included, I'd find it difficult to believe that anyone who reads this website isn't in at least one of them: "advertiser" + "publisher" includes anyone who uses AdSense.
Maybe you should list some kind of "minimum size" to be invited? I might suggest "dollars of ads transferred", as that's probably what you are caring most about (big-ticket partners and clients), and handles all three cases quite cleanly (whereas "impressions" or something only awkwardly approximates that metric and doesn't work well for "agencies" at all).
It's not sales as much as collaboration. Lots of us only have point solutions. Unless we have exits very soon, the most viable approach is to partner to offer more complete solutions.
