India has low vaccination rate and extremely bad outbreak of Delta variant that's undercounted by all accounts because there's simply not enough testing available.
It's prudent to ban travel from there. And it should be mentioned that most countries banning travel for Indians are also banning travel from the UK for same reasons, which makes this article fall apart.
