Haven't really persued a solution to these gpu/heat/noise issues yet.
Though, a few months ago I had contacted Apple about a different matter and mentioned these problems to the agent who then told me that was the first time they and their colleagues had heard of this issue.
Their tone and the very many words they used to convey this told a different story. Going to be an interesting case when I finally have time to get this sorted.
Edit: Not saying it's company policy to deny this issue exists. It could just have been this agent not wanting to deal with it (maybe because it'd end up in a concession which would look bad on his profile?)
