Even if he was pumping crypto, that doesn't mean he has no morals or that he would lie about technical details, particularly where he can be easily found out.

It has everything to do with the character, since he provides no evidence for what he says, we have to trust him. Therefore, the first question we must ask is: is this person trustworthy?
