Like all things it’s a balance: we need returns to capital, we need returns to labour. The gains from productivity increases need to be distributed equitably.

We need private purpose, we need public purpose.

You should be able to build a machine and then pay people to run it, but the first person who builds a machine shouldn’t be able to dominate all labour and further machine production.
