I and my co-founder Manju have been working remotely for around a year, while we love the concept of remote work we found it difficult to keep a track of all the important stuff on Slack.
For instance, there are 10's of channels and 100's of messages coming in, we often lost track of the most important messages or links and it is never easy to find them again.
We wanted an easy way to highlight/capture messages for our weekly SuS updates without digging through all the conversations, every time just before the submission.
Completely frustrated with this problem, we wanted to solve it, we build a very simple bot for ourselves to manage our Slack conversations into a DIGEST of sorts.
The bot created a DIGEST consisting of all our:
#Actionitems ( for the things to be done or top goals for the next week )
#Discussiontopics ( setting up meeting agendas, discussion items, etc.)
#highlights ( for anything else which was super important for us like links, funding resources, etc.)
The bot is extremely simple, yet it gets the job done! now we never have to worry about the weekly updates again. we just pull the content from Poppins and update it on SuS.
We use it all the time and can't imagine our workspace without it, as It has been super helpful for us, some of the people in our network who are starting up have shown a lot of interest to use it as well. in fact, a couple of them are already using it!
we are willing to give it for free to other Startups/teams and individuals who are facing similar issues on Slack.
