Same difference. Obviously a subreddit can't go offline without reddit going offline.

Going private is an action taken by subreddit moderators. Banning the sub is done by Reddit itself.

I never said anything about banning. Mods can take a sub offline (making it private). I don't know why we're even having this discussion.
