This is just wrong and a sloppy way to insult "half the US population". This sort of attitude contributes to the tribalism that is creating so much division.

But in this case it was clearly a slam against anyone who didn't vote a particular way. It wasn't just some sloppy use of language to mean "many".


You are right, the comment I made on the Internet late at night was not perfectly formulated. I think there is a better wording here, I was trying to say there is a political aspect to how people view everything nowadays (before an edit I compared to taking a knee on the other side, but again it’s too complicated a point to get across right now).
