I think american are getting a bit too anxious. The trend the last hundred years have been that we talk less about depression and more about recessions. In fact, if the worst thing that could happen is that a couple of banks close down and a couple of millions have to start renting, well, that isn't really so bad. In my view, that's a picture of a pretty resillient economy.
