I've got too much of impostor syndrome + introversion to get promoted; for me at this point, a promotion would mean moving to a management position (e.g. scrum master, project manager, architect, CTO, roles like that), but they all involve managing and interacting with people a lot more and I'm not very comfortable with that. I'm afraid I'd get full of myself and pissy at people, bossy, etc.
At least I'm not the only one; the other day, instead of asking me if I could work on tasks in a project that shouldn't be my primary focus (in my perception), I got a call from the CEO of the company asking me the same thing instead. Why my colleagues wouldn't just ask me directly? I dunno. Why none of them stood up to take charge of the project in the role of a project manager? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
