Ruby, Python, and to some extent Node have always had problematic dependencies on system libraries.

I can't count the number of apps in these languages where I've had to fiddle with downloading updating, compiling libraries.

Java and C# are great about this. Download it, run some command, and you're good to go 99% of the time.
