I use an iPad Pro as my primary personal device. I have used it to write a book, and to write code for GitHub.

I would use it in my current job, however we have very strict rules about what we are and are not allowed to do with personal devices regardless of their make and model.

It's quite amazing how capable it is once you rustle up a git client, and editor, and a wireless keyboard.



Your usage case seems like almost any tablet device could have worked though.


Yes but the biggest success of the iPad lies mostly in there are no alternatives left. Almost everyone else has left the market. At this point if you’re buying a tablet that’s not an iPad, you really have to go out of your way to make that justification.
