A 200 dollar chip and 100 dollar psu doesn't add up to the equivalent 500-1000 dollar Intel.

fx and x2 where _never_ that ahead of performance to be comparable to a twice expensive intel chip.

Maybe I got a great deal but it measured 9000+ on cpubenchmark for 300 dollars. Intel equivalent was nearly 1000 for the same performance. Yes power requirements were higher but that's pennies on the dollar.
