Nice app! Love the simplicity. I have some color scheming things in the works, and a "night mode" is definitely on the list.
Backbone worked great. There were definitely some things that didn't jive well with Rails. If I get some time, I'll write about it. My fork is here: https://github.com/jamesyu/backbone
