There was an article [1] posted the other day that cited "Scott Alexander" as if he were a psychiatrist who goes by that name.

The blog being cited is "Slate Star Codex", which is an anagram for the name.

Some commenters in the other thread claim his identity and credentials are easy to discover, however I don't find this to be true. Does anyone know?

Also, for such a widely shared blog, I wonder why the about page [2] would intentionally mislead readers into believing it is a real name,
