If I call it pull request it would be nice if the gitlab ui would have the same name. I see, you won't change, so maybe offer a config option for this name?
Unfortunately I don't see this being a priority for us, as it would be a fairly large-scale operation for not a lot of benefit. However, you can open an issue for it here if you want! https://gitlab.com/gitlab-org/gitlab-ce/issues
