Google Interview: AdWords Associate

• How would you deal with an angry or frustrated advertisers on the phone?

And this would be important to google how? Since when did they have telephones installed for customers?




The companies who buy ad space are served by real salespeople, no? Google product end users for the most case are not Google's customers. Rather, access to end user eyeballs are the product Google sells to the real customers, the advertisers.


I think if you spend enough money on advertising, they'll pick up the phone.


Hint: you can use search engines to find job descriptions:

"As an AdWords Associate, your main responsibility will be to manage a portfolio of advertiser accounts. You will be working directly with your advertisers to drive revenue and customer satisfaction."

And of course they have phones. If you were the kind of customer they'd be interested in talking to, you would probably have their number already...


At google Brazil some crazy people found out the address and actually showed up on the building to complain about some non-sense happening in Orkut.

I guess they had their share of crazy advertisers hitting some random number (heh, just like recruiters) and hearing some joke from a employee
