While I don't think you're wrong, I think the problem is modern corporate thinking. People are no longer expected to have a job for life, and to develop and progress at the place where they work. They are now disposable cogs. You don't repair/improve individual cogs, you replace them. So I think companies have brought it on them selves.

And to be honest I hate having to look for jobs every 2 years. If someone offered me a job for life, job security, development etc, I'd take it.
