I guess, the main issue is that if half the colleges increase grades, the other half looks bad. Maybe a new measure should exist, like your GPA relative to the school average.

On a transcript, some schools put the average score of all students in each class, right next to the score that student got for the class.

For some schools, average GPA can vary widely with major as well.

Yep, maybe it should just be within your major, last 5 years or something similar.
