What's the point of encrypting the sites in China anyway? I mean obviously everything you do online in China is tracked and not only that but shared - so is it maybe better in China to just not encrypt to safe on the additional power consumption? Really good green policy in China :D
It's doing something. After Google deployed TLS and obviously did not obey government data requests the government blocked Google domains entirely. Kind of like how Russia blocked Wikipedia entirely because TLS does not allow fine grained per page blocking.
I means itβs more about local corruption in China right which is driven by perverse economic pressures that come from an overbearing centerialized government power.
