I don't think Paint (at least the version this is replicating) had a crop feature.

I always used to do:

- Ctrl-A (Select All)

- Ctrl-X (Cut)

- Ctrl-E, 1, Tab, 1, Enter (Resize image to 1x1 pixel)

- Ctrl-V (Paste)
