FYI, in cold weather this is what you need to do with an electric car:

1. Turn it on

2. Drive off

Optionally, step 0: Use the app on your phone to tell the car to warm up, defrost the windscreen etc while you are in the house having breakfast.

Range does suffer in cold temperatures; similarly ICE engines are less efficient in cold temperatures.
