Not being sarcastic, but it took me a month to have a good grip on the subject, so I cannot imagine what took you two years to learn. Can you please share?

The things that clicked last for me were the nitty-gritty of the transaction structure and scripting system.

It also took some time to understand the cypherpunk roots of Bitcoin.
