If Apple falls behind on features that developers want, the App Store numbers they like to tout to loudly will stop growing so rapidly. Highly unlikely; unless they lose their consumer market too. Because, at the end of the day, developers will jump through a few hoops (and rightfully gripe) to sell to the biggest user base.

It ought to get better if they use iAds. That would provide an ongoing revenue stream from each user.
