The big thing for me right now is tethering my iPhone to my iPad. Just saved $130 + $30/month.

Not only is it possible, there's an app that allows you to turn it into a mobile WiFi hotspot similar to the Pre.

It has been possible for a long time- for folks with a jailbroken iPhone. I used PDANet. Completely forgot that in my list of reasons to jailbreak!
