Power failure at DC data center, Salesforce.com failed over NA 11, 12, 14 last evening to another data center.

This morning, while syncing data on those nodes, a catastrophic database failure occurred on NA14. There is currently no information what occurred (hardware vs software). They are currently analyzing the data failure and recovery options.

Please keep updating this as you learn what's happening. Salesforce is opaque at the moment.

The Oracle Data Guard restore failed. SFDC is now looking at fairly severe options that include: data loss and/or 24 hours or more of additional downtime.

Hard to overstate what a huge operational impact this makes on many companies.
