Awesome project. I used a similar program (minimodem[1]) a while ago to configure Wi-Fi settings via audio [2]. It's great being able to do some basic setting without having a radio connection. Amazon used the same technique in their Dash-Button albeit in the inaudible range [3].
Such an email-address is pretty much as worthless as gmx or hotmail if everybody is able to create one. Email addresses of well known universities look good because they are hard to get. You have to put some kind of scarcity into your service.
SpaceX has a very clear description how to apply http://www.spacex.com/careers.php. They offer the possibility to inculde a videolink, thats definitely a chance to stand out. Depending on the position your applying for you may have to work on very critical szenarios. Try to give your application the level of perfection a mission critical component would require. Also consider SpaceX probably recieves hundreds of applications. It may be better to stricly follow their guidelines in order to keep their application system efficient.
I think that's a valid point. My plan was to upload a conventional CV, but have the opening line refer to the website. I'll work on the perfection part. Thanks for the tips.
Putting myself in a convenient environment is crucial for my productivity.
I have two places, one in work, one at home that are dedicated for working
purposes. Within this environment I always listen to www.trance.fm, lyrics would
distract me. It's a never ending stream so I don't have to care about selecting tracks. I don't care about headphones,
as long as they aren't uncomfortable to wear.
Environment is huge for me too, but when I can't control it as I would like, a good pair of earbuds helps to block everything out. Lyrics distract me at times too.
