Once my Google suddenly turned into Hebrew (I'm Finnish so that was pretty wtf). It was around the 2023 Hamas attacks so I initially wondered if I'd been hacked by some pro-Israeli group. Soon I realized it only happened if I used my home network and then restarting my router to get a new IP fixed it.

Similar issue on Chrome 95 / Linux Mint Cinnamon. For me this was a test of which fonts remain somewhat readable when blurred.

One thing where I've used Firefox devtools instead of Chrome is when debugging font usage (which is not very often).

Chrome tells you the used font for a single element on a pretty generic level, e.g. "Lato — Local file" or "Lato — Network resource".

Firefox Inspector has a Fonts tab that lets you list all the fonts used on a page. It tells you a more specific font name, e.g. "Lato Regular", the relevant @font-face rule and also the font URL if it's a network resource.

Our develompent setup uses docker swarm which requires Overlay networking which is not supported in rootless. Otherwise I'd probably use rootless docker on my dev machine.

I've lately noticed that searching Google for topics related to gardening in Finnish often gives me some scraped and machine translated pages from Russia. Really annoying that totally useless content is so high up in the results.

They also did it earlier in 2015 with Pentax K-3 II. Also Olympus OM-D E-M5 Mark II had a similar feature in 2015.

You're assuming a narcissist behaves rationally and thinks long term. Trump's overinflated ego causes him to vastly overestimate his abilities (eg. "I know ISIS more than the generals do") and makes him unable to admit blame or failure (eg. if I lose the election, it'll be because it was rigged), which is a terrible combination. If he was rational and wanted his legacy to be good he would improve on constructive criticism, but based on his campaign he seems unable of taking any kind of criticism. Trump is already remembered as the candidate for president who had a habit of starting unnecessary twitter feuds whenever he felt insulted. If Trump could do whatever he wanted as president, he would ban everyone from criticizing him. If he has to choose between a long-term benefit for the country and a short-term personal benefit, he will choose the personal benefit.

As for not causing unnecessary military conflicts: "And, by the way, with Iran, when they circle our beautiful destroyers with their little boats, and they make gestures at our people, that they shouldn't be allowed to make, they will be shot out of the water."

I switched to Telegram with my fiancée because of troubles with migrating WhatsApp data when she bought a new phone. When we powered up the new phone we realized that WhatsApp message history hadn't been transferred in the device migration (Windows Phone here) and there was some data that we wanted to preserve. WhatsApp on the old phone stopped working because the account had been used on the new phone so we couldn't even look at the chat history without using the SIM card to reactivate it. Reactivating WhatsApp on the old phone involved some extra hassle because the two phones had different SIM card slot sizes. After reactivation we could look at the old messages before moving the SIM card back to the new phone but couldn't transfer them, since WhatsApp chat history transfer on WP requires that both phones have an SD card slot. Being pretty fed up with WhatsApp at that point I found Telegram and have used it ever since.

For me, creativity often happens by getting a random idea and recognizing it as part of a whole which is yet to be created. In the linked case it could be something like identifying a face in the clouds and then extrapolating that to create an image of a whole cloud person.

Looks cool on my desktop but does not work properly on my Nexus 7. Tapping an image does animate the text and brightness of the element, but the white mask does not move anywhere. The tap also causes the page to scroll to the top instantly.

The jump to the top of the page is just because the demo doesn't link the images to anything. In a real-world situation, you'd likely associate a URL with the href, or implement some other behavior onclick.
